Vintage English COTTAGE Garden Print--1st Giveaway

Circa 1920-30's Anne Hathaway's Cottage print

I have never done a giveaway on my blog, I have never won a giveaway off anyone's blog...so I decided it would be more fun to give something than get...so here it is. Since I have no idea exactly what you do normally in giveaways, and I want to make it as simple as possible on the people entering, I am not going to require that you do anything too difficult , or time-consuming.
First let me show you this print. I have many old prints of English cottages, Anne Hathaway's is a famous, popular cottage series from England. Here is a link from Wikipedia about her:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anne_Hathaway_%28Shakespeare%29

This original  vintage print is under glass, in good condition, measures almost 8 x 10 ins. , image only, the entire framed piece measures 10 x 12 1/2 ins.approx. It is a bit loose in the frame , but I wanted to give the winner the chance to have their framer put acid-free board behind it to help preserve it, or the other option is for me to ship it without the frame or the glass, just the print itself. That will be the winner's choice.

I have vintage cottage garden prints all around my kitchen.

Here are my rules for the contest :

1. Write in the comment section what you always wanted to be when you grew up.

That's it.

I'll go first...but I can't win, so it is Ok. I always wanted to be a writer.

Now your turn.

This contest will end on December 15th around 3 PM. I will then get my 9 year old associate to draw the name out of a hat, once I write them down and shake them up.
ANYWHERE in the world qualifies for this contest. I will ship to you free.

Good luck to all bloggers , ( I wish I could give each of you something really ),
Gina

  1. Hi there Gina,
Whereas I would love to be a writer or artist now, when I was younger I wanted to be a motorcycle stunt rider at the fairground. I guess common sense and ambition weren't rife in this head in those days. Love the print.

  2. Gina, like you I dreamt of being a writer. The love of books drew me in and I often wrote as a favorite pastime as a child. To this day, I still want to be a writer. If I could be anything, other than a wife and mother, it would be a writer.

  3. What a beautiful print. As silly as it may sound, I always wanted to be a Mom. The Lord has blessed me with the life in which I can indeed stay at home and be a Mom.

  4. Hi Gina,

I probably don't qualify for the draw, as I live in South Africa (exhorbitant shipping costs) - however, I'll pretend and join in the fun anyway :)

I wanted to be a teacher. I was in primary school (grade 5) when I knew. And, that's what I did after qualifying and prior to becoming a mother. I stopped teaching when I fell pregnant and remained at home thereafter to raise our two children.

Your giveaway is beautiful. Hope you have lots of fun.

  9. A Knight and troubadour, which I am, of course.

    I know Ann Hathaway's well.

I've been having a play with PhotoShop, painting. Here's my rough impression of Ann Hathaway's:

    Not as pretty as yours.

This is a much older painting, not sure of the date, around 1800-ish. There were not many flowers in the garden then, but there was pond with ducks:

  17. My first time here. I am so sorry for your loss. Hugs.

Growing up, I wanted to be a neurosurgeon :P Turned up in an entirely different profession - now I perform "neurosurgery" on computers and networks :D Well, not really, but I now work in the Networking (IT) field.

  18. First off, That's a beautiful print. And it's the name of my favorite Actress. She makes me laugh :)
As far as knowing what I wanted when I was little. Was to be a "World Traveler". I use to send for brochures from different travel places to see what other parts of the world looked like when I was a little girl. I loved to look at the places and the photography. That was my "Pie in the Sky". Thanks for posting a cool idea. Makes ya think about your life path :) Joyce

  19. Gina, I found your website looking for Atkinson Fox prints which I adore. I cannot tell you what a blessing it was to have stumbled upon this website. The information about your love for your daughter and your loss brought me to tears, and looking at the lovely pictures you have collected brings me a great sense of peace. I have often gone to antique shops just to "BE" Each item has a story and a belonging. Just like our children. They belong to us and and even when they pass on to another place, they are always with us, a permanent part of our heart and being. I wish you peace.
