" I think the purpose of life is to be useful, to be responsible, to be honorable, to be compassionate. It is, after all, to matter; to count, to stand for something, to have made a difference that you lived at all." Leo Rosen

In The GARDEN sung by Alan Jackson...Enjoy !
Hope you enjoyed this... it is him singing the old hymn that I use some of the lyrics for in my header, at the top , Gina
Hi, I thought that I would come to see your blog and what a pleasure it was. My husband just completed a Grotto at our Church and he drove by it this afternoon and the building and grounds committee had just completed planting flowers there. He came home and got me to show me the surprise. I was overcome with emotion, seeing this wonderful surprise. Then I came to my computer and read your comment. I came here and clicked on Allan Jackson singing "In The Garden" (my favorite hymn) and couldn't believe the feeling of emotion all over again. Thankyou...you have a beautiful blog. I'll be back to visit often. Balisha
Hi Robur, yes, I saw that one too. I was trying to chose between Mahalia Jackson, Elvis, Jim Reeves, and Alan Jackson. I think I will have to listen to Elvis' entire one, as the black studded outfit threw me with him for this special hymn.
Hi Balisha , I am so happy you read my blog and enjoyed the hymn ! Please come back anytime, take care ! Gina
Hello, Gina, I came over via Terra's blog. I was intrigued by the title of your blog as I love to garden, too. I am glad I came over to visit your beautiful gardens and see your lovely family. So nice to have "met you". Have a blessed weekend~ Vicki
Hello Vicki! thankyou so much for that Alan Jackson video. I just adore that song and love the way that he sings... so straight no pretence. One of my favorites. Geraldine.
I love comments , please leave one if you like. I try to respond to comments, but if I'm running behind, please know that I read each one before they are published. Thanks much, Gina

The Elvis version has a couple of extra phrases in it, about birds and melodies.
